Tabriz is the capital of East Azarbaijan province in the northwest of Iran. This city is considered as the most important economic and the first economic pole in Azeri regions of Iranian language.
This city was established from the time of the Parthians and Sassanid, and it was capital during the rule of the Atabakan, Khwarazmshahi, Ilkhan and Safavid. Tabriz’s flourishing continued during the Qajar era and is now also one of the most important economic and industrial centers in Iran. The Church of St. Stephenos in East Azerbaijan is the second most important Armenian Church in Iran, after the holy Taddeus church. This church, is a cultural heritage registered at UNESCO. On a visit to Tabriz, visit other places such as the Tabriz market (Bazaar), Jahanshah Mosque, Ali shah Arg, Tabriz Grand Mosque, Azerbaijani Museum, Tomb of Poets, Il- Goli Park and Kandovan Village.
