For many Iranians, shopping has become a routine habit. While historic remain the favorite places to shop for most young people, they now face stiff competition from luxury shopping malls all across the country. Despite the sanctions, many modern shopping malls have been appeared in Tehran and other cities in the past few years. Some of them include: Arg Commercial complex, Sam Commercial Complex, Palladium Mall, Modern Elahiyeh Complex, Kourosh Complex and Iran Mall (all in Tehran); Isfahan City Center (Isfahan); Persian Gulf Complex (Shiraz); Arman Commercial & residential complex (Mashhad); Laleh Park Complex (Tabriz) and Sarina Commercial Complex (Kish Island). Of course, traditional bazaars such as historic bazaars of Tabriz and Tehran have also maintained their long-standing popularity among indigenous people and foreign travelers.
