KERMANSHAH

The most important city in the Kurdish region of western Iran is Kermanshah. The emergence of Kermanshah dates back to the fourth century AD, and is one of the most ancient and historically important cities. The flourishing and prosperity of this city was at its highest in the Sassanid era and was known as an important link between Iran and Mesopotamia. The most important archaeological remains of the past centuries in Kermanshah are Taq Bostan and the inscription of Bisotun, which have a worldwide reputation and importance.
